As you may know already, I’m a huge fan of basic pieces and when I’m 100% satisfied with its quality – they are esential in creating both timeless and unrepeatable looks, and if they can last you for good few years, it’s a double win-win situation for me.
As we are undeniable stepping in the Fall/Winter fever, I decided to create a list of 5 basic pieces, all available at NET-A-PORTER, that are essential for upcoming season!
1. Ksubi Playback Grease high-rise straight-leg jeans, £190
2. STAUD Carine faille mules, £245.00
3. Joseph Silk-blend turtleneck sweater, £225.00
4. aeydē Leila leather ankle boots, £250.00
5. STAUD Moon leather tote, £240.00
As you know, I’m a big fan of investing in classic (and statement) pieces, but I’m very passionate about sustainbility. My motto is – if you won’t wear it at least 100 times, don’t buy it, regardless if it’s a jumper purchased in second hand or a pair of designer shoes.
This time I decided to focus on denim jeans – we all have at least 5 pairs of these, and cotton is the most common, most loved and, unfortunately, most polluting fabric in the world (you can find out more in my post Cotton – wise wardrobe guide).
I picked 4 pairs of jeans, which are classic, but interesting and are amazing to create many outfits – from cozy coat + sweater looks to party top + kitten heels outfit. These will be amazing for not only Fall but all year around and are in classic shape and design, which will make you love them even more – they will never go out of style and will serve you for years!
Caramel jumper is a definite MUST HAVE in every women’s wardrobe. It’s a classic piece that saves ‘I don’t know what to wear’ days, especially during colder days and evenings. Its neutral color is a key to countless outfit looks.
1.Neutral Casual Classics
Coffee dates or family meetings are the perfect time to wear a sweater! By adding other classics like good old pair of jeans, beige oversized coat and scarf in similar color creates amazing base for accessories – and here you can go creative – from massive hoops and layered necklaces, to statement earings and rings, from fringed heeled boots, to sneakers. Don’t forger that summer’s straw bags are still a big trend in winter!
2. Minimal Boss Lady
I wouldn’t recommend wearing any type of knitwear to a business meeting or to the office, but after-work drinks or meetings of less importance are a green light for soft, knitted fabric, styled with tailored trousers (flared are a NEED!), classic coat, statement pumps and oversized bag. I would stay calm with jewellery, but a minimalistic ring and necklace – definite YES.
Weekend stroll and coffee or crazy house-party at your friends’? Trying classic sweater with colorful pieces are the perfect way to get noticed. If you consider yourself as a shy person, I would suggest just one unconventional accent, but if you like to blind others with your crazy wardrobe choices, go fully in!
4. Denim on denim
Although combining denim with denim can cause a lot of pain, I adore this trend to its’ fullest! Denim coat and caramel jumper is my personal favourite combo, so why don’t add more denim? If you are really struggling with matching two denim pieces, choose one in black! Adding cool leather boots and spicing it up with a bucket bag and 80s’ inspired sunglasses is the best recipe for a casual, yet impressing outfit!
